Silence is Important

I'm striving hard to achieve my goals for March and in that pursuit I have been making more time for meditation. The meditation has given me time for self reflection and is slowly making me more aware of my body and surroundings.  I now find myself driving with the music off and just sitting in my room, on my bed, with the TV off, computer closed, phone down, and just being.  It has been quite soothing. I truly encourage you to try it. Just be.

Adventures with Mac Mini

Yesterday was pretty productive (despite not completing everything on my to do list) and I accomplished a few things I've been off for weeks. I was able to give myself a manicure, take a few of my lectures in my online training class, and upgrade the RAM in my Mac Mini. Yes, I'm girly but also a total nerd, lol.

While listening to my lectures on Udemy, I gave myself a complete manicure. You can check out my new nail polish and attempt at hand modeling [HERE]. After lecture and my manicure, I figured I should upgrade the RAM in my Mac Mini (Mid 2010) because it was supposedly extremely easy....

New Nails: Under $3 Bux!

A few days ago, I took a trip to Ulta to use my $6 bonus cash and my plan was to get some new makeup powder, but apparently I have a common complexion so my color was all sold out. Lame. Instead, I spotted this gorgeous Essie nail polish, Turquoise & Caicos, for $8.


With my coupon it ended up only being $2 and some change. What a bargain! I've been excited to try it ever since I saw and today was the day! Check out this lovely Spring color....

Forgiveness is Happiness


One aspect of my personal mantra for this year is Forgiveness, and let me tell you; it's changed my life! For so many year, practically my entire life, I've held grudges or not truly forgiven people that have hurt me in the past and that definitely takes a toll on your spirit, happiness, and peace of mind. As much as I've tried to fight the notion that "not forgiving someone is like drinking poison and expecting them to die", I faced facts and accepted that to be true. Once I realized that I needed to let go of the past and truly forgive, not just say it but live in it too, my life became a millions times better. My spirt is more calm and I definitely gained a peace of mind.

Personal Goals for March

Hello March. How did we get here so quickly?! Well, this is the last month in the 1st quarter of the year, so it's only right to start it strong and make it count. So far, this year has been going really well, but there is always room for improvement. Personally, I like creating lists (OCD habitat, maybe lol) and what better list than a list of goals?!

Midnight Thoughts...

As I sip my tea and read my book, I look around and I am happy. Beyond blessed and grateful for everything today has brought.

This day has been amazing and exactly what I needed. After having a not so good trip this past weekend, getting sick, and then feeling unaccomplished in my goals the events that unfolded today were powerful.

When I opened my eyes this morning, I was greeted with kiss from my heart and the Sun. somehow, even then, I felt today was going to be a good day. Then my gas light came on and when I went to get gas, it had jumped almost 20 cents in a weekend; thanks American greed.

Admittedly, I allowed myself to worry today...about my finances, goals, and the enormous task list that seems to be mounting by the day. But after worrying myself for a short time, I remembered how pointless it is and decided what will be will be. Literally the moment after I let go of my worry the blessings came, one after another.

Yesterday, I read "when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it" and I watched it manifest today.

Fitness on a Budget

In the beginning of the year, I bought a Groupon for 5 Bikram Yoga classes for the price of two and I fell in love with it. By happenstance, I stumbled upon a deal at a Bikram Yoga Studio near my house for unlimited classes for 30 days. This was the deal of a lifetime! Needless to say, I've been going every chance I got it...3-4 times per week!

This marks my last week of Bikram Yoga and it's bittersweet. I really enjoy Bikram Yoga and it has definitely helped me to focus my energy, lose weight, increase my flexibility, and give me peace of mind; but I've lost too much weight (in my opinion) and the regular price of the classes are way too expensive. With the end of Bikram Yoga, I am focusing my practice on at-home Asana, looking into taking Ballet classes, and looking forward to training for a 10K. I don't know if I'll actually do a 10K race, but at least I'll be trained to do one, lol.

Sunflower Oil & Oil Pulling

I finally went to the Market and bought a bottle of Sunflower Oil to begin Oil Pulling. I first discovered this method last year on Instagram and I have procrastinating on getting the oil to do so. I was reminded about this method yesterday when Elizabeth Antoinette (who is a very inspirational vegan) posted a tweet about this method and I quickly put it on my to do list.

Hiking in the Mountains

While most of America was at home watching the Presidential Inauguration, TB and I decided to go hiking together. We had a GREAT time! I honestly think that was my first time actually voluntarily went walking in the forest, lol. 


The drive out to the mountains wasn't too bad at all and the scenery was beautiful. The weather ended up being really nice, despite the Weather Man calling for a cold cloudy day, the sky was blue and the sun was shining bright.

Cleansing Meditation Gemstones


In my last post, I mentioned that I purchased gemstones to aid in my meditation practice, and after receiving these gemstones I learned that they need to be "programmed" before using them. According to the insert from Crystal-Cure.com "the purpose of programming a stone is to focus its energy on something you specifically want or need, thereby magnifying its intent through your own." The insert also came with steps on how to program the gemstones and the only step I didn't know how to accomplish was "cleansing the gemstones" so after some research I found a few different methods.

Mediation & Yoga Essentials

It's going on two weeks of me practicing Bikram Yoga and Asana Yoga and I'm in love with both. I practice Bikram Yoga at various studios and I practice Asana Yoga at home via an app that I discovered in the App Store. My normal attire for yoga is a tank top and brief shorts,very simple and free. Recently, I purchased a beautiful piece of yoga jewelry from Lhasa Designs [HERE] which features a locket and I plan to add a Sugilite gemstone inside. This week will be the first time using the yoga jewelry and I'm excited to the added energy!

New Year, New Peace

My 24th birthday was almost 2 weeks ago and I decided this new year, for myself, I am going to be a better women and open my mind & spirit to peace. I've spent a great deal of my life harboring resentment, hate, animosity, and a host of other negative energies that don't serve any positive purpose in life.
